Mr. Matias is a seasoned DJ and musician whose journey in musicology began more than 30 years ago. From 90’s punk rock to post-bob obscurities, and a decade-long career as a blues sideman in Chicago sharing big stages with living legends, he has done it all. This rich musical background as a selector and performer informs every set he plays, blending a vast knowledge of sound with an anything-goes attitude that moves both body and spirit. After entering San Francisco’s dance music community in 2012, he quickly became a beloved figure with the heads and dancers alike. Earning the support of a long list of icons like Skyrager, Anthony Mansfield, DJM3, and Galen… the list goes on. Playing standout gigs at Sunset Sound System Campout, The Basement in LA, his own residency at Underground SF, and the legendary Lower Haight record shop, Vinyl Dreams. Mr. Matias plays from the heart, open format at its best, and with original music and edits on the way, he is just getting started.
