Since 2012, Anderson Chase has been settling into the San Francisco dance music scene as a DJ and producer with an open mind and a keen ear for rhythms. An avid punk and hardcore fan as a teenager in San Diego, he started out as a drummer in bands before he discovered dance music via drum n bass and jungle. Shortly after, he caught a glimpse into the possibilities of turntablism when he heard a mix from Miami bass heavyweight DJ Craze and his desire to create as an electronic music artist bloomed.
Chase eventually experienced the potential of genre-blending house and disco through DJs Mark E Quark and Bob Dazzla in the SD scene. These artists influenced the sound he shares today in venues such as F8, Public Works, and Monarch. In 2019, he showed off his sensibilities in the heady and industrial flavors of house music with his single ‘Moon Replacement’ on SF-based label Public Release, which includes remixes from a couple of his favorite artists, Mark E and Gonno. Chase continues to be an artist to look out for in SF and beyond.
